The NTS Norisol Turbine System differs radically from other turbine insulation systems as it is dismountable and reusable. It some cases it is even possible to undertake inspections without interrupting operations.
When insulating turbines there is not only the extreme heat to consider. Noise is also a considerable problem. The NTS system handles both, and in addition offers both operating and financial benefits due to fewer days with stops of operations in connection with revisions.
The NTS system is built on a self-supporting frame around the turbine. The purpose of the frame system is to minimise direct contact between the turbine and the outermost cladding, contact that transfers noisy vibrations and heat. The external cladding of sandwich panels are fixed to the frame and the cavity between the turbine body and the panels is filled with insulation pads
The panels and the pads are dismountable and may be removed exactly where needed. After reinstallation the plant may be restarted immediately.
